Sentiero “Maurizio Salvatore”

Taking the Trignina, direction VASTO – TRIVENTO, after passing the exit for Dogliola and before the exit for Tufillo, on the right, there is a distributor in whose parking you can leave the car to walk along the path dedicated to MAURIZIO. The signage is clear and the route well delineated. In the most panoramic places were placed benches with signs next to them that invite reflection on some issues such as: ecology, environment, nature, relationship man/ planet earth,… and more. At the MAURIZIO SALVATORE ASSOCIATION it will be possible to find material for the deepening of the topics treated as well as a calendar of events organized for dissemination. Arrived in the village of Tufillo, as a just reward, you can find the specialties of the place . During the return you can stop to look at the country from afar…. breathe in the scent of pine trees, rethink what you have experienced, the reflections that the PATH has reminded us, the world we would like, what we can do, the quiet day spent outdoors.
The PATH wants to be a “living way” to do with people with whom they share interests and visions so as to dedicate a whole day to their dreams… and it is to be repeated at different times of the year to appreciate the color variations that each season can offer and to make known to new friends this “corner” of trekking, bikinis, peace and reflection… We wanted to dedicate to Maurizio a path in transformation and never equal… as he was… where they meet all those people who have shared his vision of life and who continue to cultivate the same interests keep his memory alive.
These places have existed for centuries but it is thanks to MAURIZIO that today we too can admire their beauty. Walking along this path we imagine it leading us proud to share it with each of us. And we find it again with the same tenacity, the same generosity, the same discretion, the same smile as always. In these places Maurizio will continue to exist, “great” as only he did not know he was!!

LANDSCAPE DESCRIPTION OF THE PATH

Panoramic path over the valley of the river Trigno on which it is still possible to see, from above, the old bridge, once the only connection with Molise. On the opposite side of the path, lies Montemitro, a village of Croatian origin.Going up the ridge of the Caprafica hill you discover the Colle della Carunchina with the village of Torrebruna on its slopes and, further down, that of Celenza overlooking the river below. Crossed Tufillo and around Monte Farano, with its antennas, you face the south-west side where you can see the villages of Palmoli, with behind the Mount Sorbo and Liscia lying on a ridge.
From the peaks of Monte Farano the view opens up to the sea and, on the Molise side, to the villages of Mafalda and San Felice. The view over the village of Dogliola accompanies the descent back to the starting point

DESCRIPTION OF MTB ROUTE

Length KM 20 of which 12 km uphill. Total height difference m.700 with the presence of short steep sections. Difficulty: E – Bottom: 60% dirt, 40% asphalt. ASCENT The starting point is the service area on the SS 650 Trignina. Take the path that starts on the far right, skirts the back of the service area and proceeds in a south-west direction. Follow the obvious road and after about 1,600 meters we will turn left; the obvious signs show us a piece of road downhill until you cross the paved road that leads to Tufillo. After the crossing the path begins to resume altitude and the climb becomes steeper without leaving any respite until the square in front of the Church.
